Changchun/Shanghai, China, August 1, 2023. Vitesco Technologies Changchun new research and development (R&D) center is officially put into use today. With this all-round renewal and expansion, the company, a leading international supplier of modern powertrain technologies and e-mobility solutions, will deepen its localization strategy of “in the market, for the market”, and continue to increase its presence in China and investment in Changchun to meet the rapidly growing demand for electric mobility based on nearly three decades’ experience and strong localization strength.  

The new R&D center is located at the production base of Vitesco Technologies Changchun, with a total area of nearly 8,000 square meters, which can accommodate 500 talents in the future. It contains 12 laboratories including hardware laboratory, software laboratory, hydraulic pressure laboratory, sensor laboratory and quality laboratory, which are used for the development testing, functional and durable applications of hardware and software of electrified products and traditional combustion engines. It mainly covers battery management systems, master controllers, zone controllers, rotor position sensors. While meeting the functional testing of local products, the R&D center also supports global cutting-edge research solutions in the field of electrification. 

The new R&D center is designed and constructed according to green building standards in line with the sustainability concept of Vitesco Technologies. It realizes good energy saving performance, environmental friendliness, and comfort by using a variety of new materials, low energy consumption and high efficiency air conditioning and ventilation systems, rooftop solar photovoltaic systems and several low-carbon emission reduction facilities.

As an important global production base, Vitesco Technologies Changchun is a national high-tech enterprise with nearly 2,400 employees covering R&D, validation, production, and sales. The company has been honored with titles such as Enterprise Technology Center of Changchun City, Enterprise Technology Center of Jilin Province, and the first batch of Foreign-funded R&D Center of Jilin Province during the national 14th Five-Year Plan.
