    • Exceeding 188 million EUR, this project is a key part of Vitesco Technologies' commitment to invest over 576 million EUR into sustainable mobility across the Czech Republic by 2027
    • Launching operations on a 38,000 m² site by late 2024, the facility will initially employ 150 staff to manage highly automated production and storage areas
    • The facility's production line will focus on advanced high-voltage electronic components, essential for the electrification of drive systems in exclusively battery-powered vehicles

Ostrava, Czech Republic, January 25, 2024. Vitesco Technologies, a leading international manufacturer of modern drive technologies and electrification solutions, is set to start operations at its new state-of-the-art manufacturing and automated logistics center in Ostrava-Hrušov by year's end. This move represents a significant stride in sustainable mobility and the evolution of the Czech automotive sector. Initially employing 150 individuals, the workforce is projected to expand to over 1,000 by 2027. Complementing this is Vitesco Technologies' R&D center in Ostrava with nearly 300 employees.

Vitesco Technologies will open a new CZK 4.7 billion plant in the Czech Republic.

The new investment in the form of a production plant goes beyond the borders of the region, which is confirmed by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Jozef Síkela:

The new site will also benefit local companies within the supply chain. Notably, onsemi Rožnov pod Radhoštěm will provide crucial silicon carbide-based semiconductors, building on an already announced global partnership valued at 1.75 billion euros.

The main products of this facility will be innovative components for the next generation of electric vehicles, supplying well-known European car manufacturers. Vitesco Technologies will be focused on crafting sophisticated high-voltage electronic systems specifically for battery-powered electric vehicles, leveraging extensive robotics and automation.

"This advanced power electronics system, which combines an inverter, onboard charger, rapid charging module, and energy distribution unit, symbolizes the shift in vehicle design away from traditional combustion engines towards electric models. This product, solely developed and designed for electric vehicles, exemplifies our commitment to innovation," explains Lukáš Rosůlek, Head of Vitesco Technologies Czech Republic.

Vitesco Technologies' recent investment in the Ostrava-Hrušov facility forms part of the company's broader investment strategy, committing over 576 million EUR to the advancement of sustainable mobility in the Czech Republic by 2027.
