Vitesco Technologies´ sustainability strategy is described in the Sustainability Agenda adopted at Board level and is steered by a set of selected Key Performance Indicators and corresponding targets summarized in the Sustainability Scorecard. Both, the Sustainability Agenda and the Sustainability Scorecard, provide the framework for the strategic development, management, and implementation of Vitesco Technologies’ material sustainability topics.
A key aspect of our sustainability agenda is the decarbonization of the entire value chain. The aim is to eliminate materials, activities and processes that cause emissions as far as possible, but in any case, to reduce or substitute them. Three key levers for decarbonization are an elementary part of DIRECTION 2030: the electrification of our product portfolio, life cycle engineering and climate neutral own operations.

Scope 1: With regard to direct greenhouse gas emissions, we are currently working on the electrification of the heat supply and the use of renewable energies.
Scope 2: We have already reduced most of our Scope 2 emissions by purchasing green electricity. We are currently dealing with the electrification of the heat supply and the conversion to green district heating.
Scope 3 Downstream: The majority of our greenhouse gases is caused by the use of sold products. The electrification of our product portfolio offers the biggest potential for decarbonization.
Scope 3 Upstream: The majority of our greenhouse gases is caused by the purchase of goods and services. By introducing life cycle engineering, we want to eliminate production materials that cause high emissions, reduce the use of materials or substitute them with alternative materials.
